Blood Policy: Anyone who is bleeding must immediately leave the mats and dress the wound. That person may not come back onto the mats until the bleeding has stopped and there is no blood upon them.
Any blood on the mats must immediately be removed and the mats cleaned. Gloves should be worn, the blood should be carefully mopped up with paper towel and the mats should be cleaned with a bleach solution containing 5.25% sodium hypochlorite and dried with a paper towel. Gloves and paper towels must be placed in a sealed plastic bag for disposal.
If blood spills onto a person that person should wash the area of contact thoroughly with soap and warm water. If blood has contacted a person's mouth or eyes they should be rinsed very well with water.

Further information about blood-borne disease may be found here:

Give it a couple of weeks and we'll all be this good.

MAJJC is one year old

We would like to thank everyone for their support in the past year. The club now has a small number of dedicated members, we are now properly incorporated with a council and office holders, and can comfortably cover our rent.

Thank you to Brett and Fujimori Sensei for their moral support and guidance throughout. Cheers to Giles for volunteering his time to give us great training. Thank you to Ivan Sensei from the Shudokan Judo for the use of the Dojo and putting up with tardy payments. Thank you Sal Sensei from Goju-kai for allowing us to encroach into the Karate class time and for training with us. Special thanks to Rob Hart for his support during the dry times.

Last but should be first, thank you to all the members for the great training and enthusiasm. Everyone got their gradings this year.

Wish us good training this year.

NO training Thursday 25 Feb

Actually it means no class at the dojo (we still train at home, right?). Sorry for the late notice.

Don't worry if you don't recognise the names, you have done these things. We'll set a date for a grading when I get back.

Oz Day training is on

We train as usual on Tuesday 26 Jan. Anyone intoxicated will NOT be allowed to get on the mat.

2010: Giles is back

Hopefully everyone has kept in shape during the holiday season, because Giles will be back on the mat from this week.
