Makiwara coming up

Since there are no trees around the dojo, we are planning to plant a makiwara on the side lawn by this summer. Grant has got his whipper snipper out and given the grass a good chop. Next step: choosing the wood, and in what shape. We do plenty of shoulder strikes, so the default plank-shaped board may need a rethink. If you got any suggestion, let us know.
